May 2018, the second main event for District in Hong Kong attracted 4000 participants. The app performed flawlessly with new quality of life functionality such as:

• Bluetooth beacons to supplement GPS pin collection for a better race experience
• Live cloud-based grids to allow for real-time changes to the maps to better support changes that happen on event day.

Additionally in the lead up to the main event, 2 more District missions were hosted allowing users to explore anytime and challenge themselves to see how far they could go!

Like the Singapore event in May 2018, checkpoints and challenges were placed across Hong Kong and runners were challenged to see who could collect the most points in the 2 hour race time. The app would be used to trigger checkpoints on arrival and as well as display live leader-board positions for each participant.

I was lucky enough to be flown to Hong Kong for the event and got to soak in first hand the excitement on base on the day. An incredible experience that I will never forget.
