This is my second hospital mode built in Simio Software Package, specifically of planned upgrades to an existing facility. The model features patients each with different requirements and resources such as beds, nurses, and doctors that are utilised based on a set of activities. The model is run from a relation database internal to the software, and was used to analyse the expected performance of the emergency department after the infrastructure changes had been implemented based on future demand.

The models 3D environment allowed for very easy buy-in from stakeholders, who could instantly relate to and give feedback on the activities occurring inside the department.
